The Queer Flag celebrates the Queer movement and Queer identity. Historically used as a slur, the term Queer was reclaimed by members of the LGBTQIA+ community in the 1980’s. For some, Queer has become an umbrella term for the LGBTQIA+ community. For others, it has become an inclusive label for folks that exist beyond the binary.
