The Progress Pride Flag, also known as the Pride Flag Reboot, was designed by Daniel Quasar in 2018. Quasar added a chevron to the traditional six-stripe Rainbow flag in order to place greater emphasis on inclusion and progression within the LGBTQIA+ community.

The first Trans Pride Flag was designed in 1999 by Monica Helms, a Transgender woman and veteran, earning her the moniker the Trans Betsy Ross. Helms describes the flag, stating,“The pattern is such that no matter which way you fly it, it is always correct, signifying us finding correctness in our lives.” Inclusion and unification are the threads that bind the Trans Flag.

Nothing beats the original. In 1978 Gilbert Baker created the first Rainbow Flag. The Original Pride Flag featured 8 stripes, as opposed to the well-known 6-stripe Rainbow Pride Flag. Gilbert Baker’s Historic Rainbow Flag included Hot Pink and Turquoise stripes. Due to manufacturing issues, the two stripes were left off the flag and it evolved into the 6-stripe Pride Flag commonly seen. This is our tribute to Gilbert Baker and his historic legacy - recreating his original design.

In Valentino Vecchietti’s redesign, a purple circle over a yellow triangle has been added to the chevron on the left half of Daniel Quasar’s progress pride flag design. The original intersex flag was designed by Morgan Carpenter.

Bi this flag! In 1999, Michael Page designed the Bisexual Pride Flag in 1999 but the colors used in the flag predate Page’s design. The colors Pink, Purple, and Blue used in combination were already popular within the Bi community. Page aimed to maximize Bisexual Pride and visibility with the flag’s design and to create a symbol for those in the community who did not feel fully represented by other Pride Flags.

The 11 Stripe Rainbow Flag was created in 2018 at the beginning of Pride Month in Seattle, Washington. The design is a variation of the Philadelphia Pride Flag which was created in 2017. In addition to the Black and Brown stripes, the 11 Stripe Flag features the colors of the Transgender Pride flag designed by Monica Helms. In its entirety, the flag symbolizes inclusion of all Queer identities while recognizing the diversity of identity and experience that exist within the community.

The Philly Pride Flag features the six rainbow stripes plus two black and brown stripes to represent the BIPOC+ Queer community. The flag was designed in Philadelphia in 2017. Since then, the Philadelphia Rainbow Flag has quickly been adopted as a symbol of inclusivity and progress around the world. The Philly Flag has drawn attention to conversations about inclusivity in the LGBTQIA+ Community and sparked several new Rainbow Flag designs.

Flag designer Morgan Carpenter said it best when describing the Intersex flag’s design. The purple circle at its center is “unbroken and unornamented, symbolizing wholeness and completeness, and our potentialities.” The flag was created in 2013 by Carpenter who works for Intersex Human Rights Australia. Creators envisioned the flag being used and adopted by any Intersex individual in any human rights affirming community context.

The term Demi was developed in 2006 by user sonofzeal on an online forum, the Asexual Visibility and Education Network (AVEN.) The flag uses the same colors as the Asexual Flag, white, purple, gray, and black to the spectrum of Asexual identities that include gray-sexuality and demi sexuality.
